#CC3C no. 23

First things First:
Click these links:

We've been thinking about this one for a while.  We always had a little tote with the essentials to take to church.  "The Church Bag" was always a great little grab and go.  After Tim Holtz came out with his wonderful folio's I started thinking about how lovely a Church Folio would be.  So, with much thanks to my DH The Kraftman I am really happy to present the following.

I love this paper stash from TH and Annette you can see that I swiped your cover layout.  I just loved it too much not to.  Hope you're ok with
that.

We took off the cover cords and used magnets to make the closure.  We are still pondering embellishments.  We want to keep them simple and flat to make it more transportable.

Here's the inside.  We added Tim's Elastic band to the inside front cover to hold the envelope and Elastic Loops to the flaps  to hold the other contents.

I had just the right sized craft envelope in my stash and it looks beautiful covered with Tim's paper.  It holds our weekly offering envelopes

Here's the inside.  The feathers from Tim Holtz die are really fun to make and look sweet with this paper

Here's the check book side, showing the pen clip.  This is a Midori pen clip.  When I bought it, I didn't realize that they come in 2 sizes.  I wanted the large size for my Midori, but I really like this small size for the Church Folio.

I made the check book cover from Tissue Wrap using the paper cloth technique.   Basically Tissue wrap decoupaged to an old sheet.  It makes a really nice product, reminicent of oil cloth.

Here's the back.  We made 2 gusseted pockets to hold the other necessities.  They close with magnets too.

Tissues, of course

Post Its and another cute pocket

See, the other cute pocket

This one holds my rosary.

I've been to church with this a couple of times, even while it was a work in progress.  I've been really happy with how very handy and practical it is.  And of course it's very pretty covered in Tim's paper.  As I said, embelishments are still being considered.  I have some Tim Holtz swivel clasps on order - I think some additonal charms will be nice.

Thanks very much for looking and letting me share

Thanks #CC3C team for such a nice challenge!

  7. What a great idea to create this Church folio. I have a friend who hosts an annual retreat and makes packages for each guest. This would be a great idea for her too. Thanks for the inspiration. Lovely job!
